Orlando Chamber Choir, directed by Richard Wilberforce, invites you on a musical journey of discovery from wealthy 16th century Renaissance Spain across the Atlantic to the New World, where exquisite European polyphony met Latin-American rhythm and sensuality in a glorious explosion of sound. De Padilla’s Missa Ego flos campi is the centre-piece of the programme which includes large-scale religious works, saucy secular songs and compositions for accompanied soloists. Orlando Chamber Choir proudly introduces Kate Symonds-Joy and Emilie Renard (mezzo-soprano), Michael Solomon Williams (tenor) and Gareth John (baritone). The concert will be accompanied by the magnificently many-sided Mariachi 1650 Players whose instruments include violin, cornett, sackbut, viol, harp, theorbo, archlute, baroque guitar, organ and various percussion instruments.
