Trinity Laban Opera is to perform Handel’s Belshazzar this July under the direction of Emma Rivlin. A student cast of emerging talent from Trinity Laban will perform Handel’s rarely staged work at Blackheath Halls.

Rivlin, alumna of Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest and Emmanuel College, Cambridge, has directed the Welsh National Opera, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the National Opera Studio and the Royal College of Music, to name a few.

Conductor Nicholas Kraemer will also lend his expertise as musical director to Trinity Laban Opera’s performances of Handel’s work, following his recent staging of Belshazzar in Norway.

Handel’s Belshazzar will take place from 2 to 5 July; www.trinitylaban.ac.uk/whats-on/events/music-events.54667.handels-belshazzar.aspx.
