A masterclass led by baroque violinist Rachel Podger is to be broadcast live from the National Centre of Early Music (NCEM).
During her 45-minute session with young players from the York Arts Academy, Podger will demonstrate and discuss techniques such as bowing, phrasing, articulation and ornamentation, which participants watching the live stream will be able to follow and join in with remotely.
The event is part of the York Baroque Strings Project – a collaboration between the NCEM, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and York Arts Academy. The project gives young string players the opportunity to work with leading musicians from the field of baroque music.
The live stream of Rachel Podger’s masterclass will take place on 29 March at 1.15pm. To take part, sign up at https://new.livestream.com/YorkEarlyMusic/masterclass.
