The Curator’s Eye launches historical instruments category

An arts marketing organisation has launched a new category which includes rare and historical instruments. The Curator’s Eye, launched in 2011, specialises in antiques, art and historical items.

Among their new collection there is a viola da gamba available for purchase, which has been dated 1680-1690. It is thought to have been made by Nikolas Leidolff, the founder of the Viennese violin makers and father to fellow maker, Johann Christoph Leidolff.

Seol Park, who helped to organise this new partnership, said, ‘We are happy to launch this category with dealers who stand by the quality of instruments they offer and think highly of one another. We plan to expand our this category, through recommendations from the trade, museum curators and performers, while always maintaining our focus on quality and trust.’
