Organ Concertos
Compilation CD of Varied Artists and Performances
Capriccio, C7172

The corralling of so many organ recordings on these five CDs from Capriccio – part of Naxos – guarantees there is something for everyone. The CDs offer six organ concertos by Handel; a reconstruction of a JS Bach Concerto for Organ, Oboe and Strings; two concertos by CPE Bach; no fewer than six concertos by Joseph Haydn and one by Michael; four Church Sonatas (slightly pushing the description of ‘concerto’) by Mozart, and finally the two organ concertos and the ravishing Suite for Violin and Organ by Joseph Rheinberger.
